32nd Century Starfleet Arrives! – New Additions For 2022

Yellow Alert! Hero Collector is growing their glorious Star Trek Universe collection of model starships with the first additions from the 32nd century Starfleet from Star Trek: Discovery season 3!

In addition to two brand-new models from the distant future, we’ll also see an exciting blast from the past, with the completion of Hero Collector’s range of Section 31 ships from Discovery’s epic season 2 finale! “Such Sweet Sorrow Part 2” with the Section 31 Deimos Class joining the lineup.

Get Ready To Jump To The 32nd Century With New Additions To The Official Star Trek Collection…
USS Discovery NCC-1031-A

I can hear the Black Alert tones just looking at this ship!  What an absolutely stunning model.  The Crossfield-class design grew on me as Discovery progressed, but the 32nd-century refit is just gorgeous, and Hero Collector has done the legend justice.

This may be a point of contention for some, but I’m actually a fan of the method Hero Collector uses for modelling the ship’s detached nacelles.

It doesn’t break the integrity of the model by punching holes in the hull or altering the model to unusual and inaccurate dimensions.  Since the clips are clear plastic or resin, they don’t terribly change the appearance of the ship.  I could imagine some folks thinking they’re a bit of an eyesore, but realistically this may have been the best way to achieve this illusion.

The official info from Hero Collector on the Discovery – A:

U.S.S Discovery-A (Refit): The U.S.S. Discovery NCC-1031 underwent an extensive refit at Federation headquarters following the ship’s sudden and violent arrival in the 32nd century. It was upgraded with futuristic technology and recommissioned as the U.S.S. Discovery NCC-1031-A. The Discovery-A model measures in at about 7.8 inches long.

Booker Cleveland’s Ship:  Cleveland Booker’s Small Scout Ship

I’m a bit of an aircraft aficionado and a big fan of flying wings.  When I see Book’s ship in its normal configuration, I’m reminded of prototype flying wings from the 1950s, and I’m on board!  Hero Collector has created an incredibly accurate depiction of Cleveland Booker’s morphing starship.  Maybe in the future, we’ll see some models in different configurations?

One question, though: can we see Grudge lounging in the window?

From Hero Collector:

Cleveland Booker’s Ship:  Cleveland Booker’s small scout ship is equipped with a cloaking device, subspace communications system, and several faster-than-light propulsion systems. Most impressively, the ship’s “morph” capability enables it to reassemble into different configurations… even mid-flight.

As of writing this, there is no information regarding preorder but the price points are as follows – $54.95 / €49.99 / £39.99.

USS Voyager – J

The tenth ship to bear the name, the USS Voyager was made famous in Star Trek: Voyager, the ship captained by the legendary Kathryn Janeway spent 7 years lost in the Delta Quadrant trying to find its way home.

The model of the Voyager J looks outstanding and truly capture the essence of the ship we have seen on screen in the third season of Discovery.

From Hero Collector:

U.S.S. VOYAGER (NCC-74656-J): The newest version of the U.S.S. Voyager, which made its maiden trip in Star Trek: Voyager with Captain Kathryn Janeway at the helm, represents “ten generations of technological evolution” and exists in the 32nd century where Star Trek: Discovery is now set.

Lastly, we jump back to the 23rd century with the last in the collection of Section 31 ships from Discovery’s second season…

Section 31 Deimos-Class
Official Star Trek Collection - Section 31 Deimos-Class
Official Star Trek Collection – Section 31 Deimos-Class

Of the Section 31 ships from “Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2,” this one is probably my favourite.

The Deimos got the proportions just right with its two-nacelled design, and it strikes the perfect balance between menacing, mysterious, and elegant.  Hero Collector’s upcoming model is a beautiful rendition of the Deimos-class, and one I will definitely be adding to my collection.

From Hero Collector:

Section 31 Deimos-Class: The covert ops organization Section 31 secretly developed and deployed a number of stealth ships, with the Deimos-Class serving as mothership. It’s actually based on a Federation design for a smaller intel science destroyer and was extended to a length of nearly 900 meters. The Deimos also boasts swarms of autonomous drone-fighters stored in the saucer “wings” on either side of its central spine.

You can preorder the Deimos below…

Like all the ships in the Star Trek Universe collection, these new additions are made as screen-accurate as possible thanks to supervision directly from ViacomCBS.  Each model is made of die-cast metal and high-quality resin, and then painstakingly painted by hand.

The newest additions are moulded in the same scale as previous entries in the Star Trek: Discovery Collection to maintain collection compatibility, as are all of the ships of the Star Trek Universe series.

The Universe collection includes new ships from Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, and the upcoming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (so psyched for that, btw)!

As always with Hero Collector’s Starships Collections, fans can sign up for a monthly subscription or purchase ships individually through the Eaglemoss shop or speciality retail. For details about a monthly subscription, visit www.herocollector.com/star-trek-universe, and go to https://en-us.eaglemoss.com/hero-collector/star-trek/star-trek-universe to purchase individual ships.

You can make your own jump into the distant future starting in January 2022!
