New York Times Bestselling Author Becomes Consultant For Star Trek Animated TV Series.

Chances are you have read at least one of his Star Trek novels, with almost thirty titles under his belt, New York Times Bestselling Author David Mack has become a well-known name in the Trek Novel universe.

Some of his most notable Star Treks credits include the novels “Star Trek: Section 31 – Control”, “Star Trek: Titan – Fortune of War”, The “Destiny” trilogy and most recently he wrote the Star Trek: Discovery Tie-in novel “Desperate Hours”, but he is not just an author, Mack also co-wrote the DS9 episodes “Starship Down” (1995), and “It’s Only a Paper Moon” (1999).

Therefore it would make sense that when you want to know something about Trek, David Mack is a person who knows his genre well, thus it should not come as a shock  that he has just been appointed as a consultant for not just one but two of the new Star Trek: Animated shows, both “The Lower Decks and the still-untitled Star Trek: Animated series being produced by Nickelodeon.

Not much is known about either project, however, Star Trek: Lower Decks is said to be a half-hour animated comedy that will follow the support crew on one of the least-important starships in Starfleet. It is being created by Mike McMahan of Rick and Morty.
