Last week was a huge week for Trek news. We have assembled an all-star panel to unpack all the new info that hit during the 2021 First Contact Day festivities. From Q appearing on PICARD and LOWER DECKS season 2 release date to our first look at yet another Starfleet uniform in DISCO season 4 and a glimpse of animated Janeway in PRODIGY. We cover it all!

Hear us report on the following panels from the First Contact Day virtual event.

PANEL #1: Special Presentation A special announcement and presentation by Patrick Stewart. -This panel featured surprise guest John Di Lancie, confirmed the return of Q in Picard season 2, and revealed the Picard season 2 teaser trailer.

PANEL #2: Revisiting “Star Trek: First Contact” -The cast of “Star Trek: First Contact” revisit the film’s importance and impact on Star Trek canon, 25 years after its premiere.

PANEL #3: Creating First Contacts – There would be no “First Contact” without these panellists. These behind-the-camera experts discuss how the collaboration between creature design, make-up, costuming, photography, VFX, and more work to create the strange new worlds of Star Trek.

PANEL #4: Women In Motion – Our panellists look back at how Star Trek: The Original Series actress Nichelle Nichols helped pave the way for women of color on television and overall, her lasting impact on not only “Star Trek,” but science and culture.

PANEL #5: Second Contact – Our panellists discuss how some of the hilarious B-stories from past series like Star Trek: The Next Generation paved the way for new iterations of “Star Trek,” including Star Trek: Lower Decks, the “Star Trek” franchise’s first animated comedy.

First Contact Day: ProdigyPANEL #6: First Contact with Star Trek: Prodigy – Kevin and Dan Hageman are joined by Star Trek: Voyager’s Captain Kathryn Janeway herself, Kate Mulgrew, who is reprising her role in animated form in Prodigy, as they talk about the highly anticipated upcoming CG-animated kids series.
