Supplementals are loosely scripted rants and raves from Rowan J Coleman about Star Trek, fandom and beyond. This Supplemental video addresses the criticism that Star Trek: Discovery season 3 is a “ripoff” of the TV show, Andromeda (2000).
This rant outlines why this is often a bad faith argument which holds most media to an absurd standard of “originality” which no TV show could match. And in fact, by freely embracing influences from other media, new stories are enriched.
