Star Trek News Update – Prodigy Renewed – Discovery S4 Episode Titles

Prodigy Renewed – Mid Season Breaks

With only 3 episodes released, today Paramount+ renewed the new animated show made by Trollhunters creators Dan and Kevin Hageman for a second season.

The thought was Prodigy would run concurrently alongside the fourth season of Star Trek: Discovery, which is due to be released in 10 days (18/11/21), we have learned that the premiere season of prodigy is to be split with two mid-season breaks.

After the first five episodes, Prodigy will take a hiatus until January 6th 2022 at which time it will air 5 further episodes and then go on another hiatus until some time later in 2022 to which Paramount+ is calling “The second half of season 1”

It is worth noting that the full run of Prodigy Season 1 will consist of 20 episodes and not 10, unlike Lower Decks which currently only airs 10 episodes per season.

The release schedule for the first season will look something like this

  • Episodes 1/2: October 28
  • Episode 3: November 4
  • Episode 4: November 11
  • Episode 5: November 18
  • Episode 6: January 6
  • Episode 7: January 13
  • Episode 8: January 20
  • Episode 9: January 27
  • Episode 10: February 3
  • Episodes 11-20: Late 2022

Along with the first seasons 20 episodes, Paramount+ renewed the show for a second season, although no further details about the season’s episode count have been released or when season 2 is expected to air.

Returning with New Episodes on Thursday, Jan. 6

Nov. 8, 2021 – More adventures await the motley crew of the U.S.S. Protostar. Paramount+, the streaming service from ViacomCBS, today announced that its new animated kids series STAR TREK: PRODIGY has been renewed for a second season.

Produced by the Nickelodeon Animation Studio and CBS Studios’ Eye Animation Production, STAR TREK: PRODIGY is already a hit amongst Paramount+ subscribers, and had the top-performing premiere day out of any original animated kids series on the service.

Season one of STAR TREK: PRODIGY premiered on Thursday, Oct. 28 with a one-hour episode, exclusively for Paramount+ subscribers in the U.S. New episodes of the first half of season one will continue to roll out weekly on Thursdays through Thursday, Nov. 18.

Following a mid-season break, the remaining five episodes of season one’s first half will be available to stream weekly on Thursdays, starting on Thursday, Jan. 6. The 10-episode-long second half of season one will be available on Paramount+ at a later date next year, to be announced.

Discovery Episode Titles and NEW Images

We are officially less than 10 days away from the newest season of Paramount+’ hit show Star Trek Discovery, while we know some snippets of info about the newest outing for the Discovery and her crew we still do not know what the new big bad for the season actually is.

What we do know is that the newly minted Captain Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the crew will face some kind of spatial anomaly but until the season is released we are still very much in the dark as to what that anomaly will be…

This weekend we have been treated to the episode titles to the first four episodes and we have some new images to go with them…

Star Trek: Discovery streams on Paramount+ in the United States, airs on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel and streams on Crave in Canada, and on Netflix in 190 countries.

Star Trek: Prodigy streams on Paramount+ in the United States, Australia, Latin America, and the Nordics, as well as on CTV Sci-Fi Channel in Canada. there is NO international distributor for countries NOT listed, although Paramount+ is scheduled to launch in the United Kingdom in 2022.
