Truth Or Myth – My Top 10 Favorite Lines From Star Trek

Hello and welcome to Truth Or Myth, it today’s episode, we’re taking a look at my top 10 Favorite lines in ALL of Star Trek. It should be noted that these are lines that ill break out in the middle of a conversation, or to break the tension in some situation I’m in. These lines do NOT represent the best moments in Star Trek, in fact, some of these lines may come from the worst episodes of Star Trek, but either way, they are just simply MY top 10 favourite lines. So with all that out of the way Lets begin!

Just as important as visuals are in Star Trek, so are great lines of dialogue and in today’s video, we’re taking a look at some of my favourites!

Number 10

Who doesn’t love Captain Jonathan Archer when he hams up his dialogue. And this line is no exception. Ill often quote it as the worst bit of acting I’ve ever seen in Star Trek…

Mirror Archer: “There’s nothing great about that man. He sold out Earth’s future to a group of subhuman species. Great men are not peacemakers. Great men are conquerors.”

Number 9

It always confused me why a French Man would have an English Accent, but no matter how confused I am, it is canon. But this line just emphasizes the confusion so much for me…

Mother: “You look tense, Jean-Luc. Come and have a cup of tea. “

Number 8

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country had a LOT of Great lines for me, but this line is one Ill break out whenever someone makes a silly or stupid comment to me and I don’t want to say, Hey that’s stupid…

General Chang: “We need breathing room.”

James T. Kirk: “Earth, Hitler, 1938.”

Number 7

This line should come as NO surprise to the fans of the channel that have watched ALL my videos. It’s a line from Star Trek: The Original Series that I use A LOT!

Kara: “Brain and brain! What is BRAIN? It is Controller, is it not?”

Number 6

Coming in at number 6 is another Quote from Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country, this time from McCoy who echoes my sentiments when I’m listening to someone ramble on and on about some innocuous subject.

General Chang: “I am constant as the northern star…”

‘Bones’ McCoy: “I’d give real money if he’d shut up”

(Paramount)

Number 5

One of my favourite lines from the newest Star Trek series Star Trek: Discovery, this line is simply a crowd pleaser for me in any situation!

Captain Georgiou : “Then where did they come from? Mr. Gant, disengage phase cannon targeting. Number One, get to sickbay. I need you fixed up and back on the bridge, stat. Mr. Januzzi, contact Starfleet Command. Send an encoded message. Tell them we have engaged the Klingons.”

Number 4

When reading the comments on my Star Trek: Deep Space 9 videos, one negative thing seemed to come up fairly often, that being Avery Brooks overacting at times. So I guess this line exemplifies that, but I don’t care, cause it’s a great line AND delivery!

Captain Sisko: “Locusts! They’ll destroy Bajor, unless it stands alone!”

Admiral Whatley: “Ben, what the hell are you talking about?”

Captain Sisko: “It’s too soon. Bajor must not join the Federation. If it does, it will be destroyed!”

Number 3

I think this next line is probably one of the most iconic lines in Star Trek History. Coming from a movie that is generally disliked by the fan base, it has always been a surprise to me how often it’s quoted by said fan base…

James T. Kirk: “Excuse me… I just wanted to ask a question. What does God need with a starship?”

(Paramount)

Number 2

Another one of those Iconic Lines, this time coming from one the most loved Trek Films, I break out this line whenever I’m fed up with something someone is doing and Need it to stop immediately!

Picard: “NO! NOOOOOOOOO!!! I will not sacrifice the Enterprise. We’ve made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far, and no further! And I will make them pay for what they’ve done!”

Number 1

This is My ALL time Favorite Line to quote from Star Trek, and why not? It has excellent delivery and shows a view of the one saying it, that I’ve always believed to be true of her anyhow…

Janeway: “When diplomacy fails, there’s only one alternative – violence. Force must be applied without apology. It’s the Starfleet way.”

Well, that’s it for another episode of Truth OR Myth. I hope you liked this one,
