WDIM? – Prodigy “Starstruck” Breakdown, Who Are Gwyn & Murf?

Hey Everyone and Welcome to What Did I Miss, where today I will be discussing and breaking down the third episode of Star Trek: Prodigy, named “Starstruck“.  Yes, this is the third episode as the first episode named “Lost and Found” is a two-part episode, which is common for a Star Trek series pilot.

As the Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise also started with two-part pilot episodes.  This episode gives us our first taste of the new crew as a whole while watching them navigate some problems that they seem to have caused themselves.

The main focus of this episode deals with the characters Dal and Gwyn, and how their attitude towards authority gets them into trouble.

Dal, who has taken command of the crew, unwittingly puts the ship and his new friends at risk when he refuses to follow any type of authority and instead tries to convince the crew that they do not need anyone else.

In fact, Dal’s actions lead the Protostar into a threat that without asking for help could have landed the ship and his crew in grave danger! Each episode of Prodigy has an underlying theme and this week was asking for help when you need it.

Gwyn on the other hand has been imprisoned in the brig because of her strict adherence to the authority of her father on the colony.  Because she went along with her fathers wishes she caused harm to many other beings, including individuals now on this ship with her.

But before I get into it, if you could leave a like on the video I would very much appreciate it.  Doing so helps the video get out to more people, and if you enjoy the content please hit that subscribe button as well for weekly sci-fi videos…
