Preview – Star Trek: Discovery “The Examples” Synopsis & More!

After last weeks sombre episode “All is Possible” where we kind of lost Tilly (Mary Wiseman) who left Discovery to go join Starfleet Academy as a teacher, and four weeks of not finding out much if anything about the DMA things are about to change.

This week Paul Stamets (Anthony Rapp) and Saru (Doug Jones) working with visiting scientist Ruon Tarka (Shawn Doyle, Clarice & Expanse) make a shocking discovery the crew of the Discovery find out some new and disturbing information regarding the DMA that changes everything the Federation knows about the DMA.

Along with this Burnham and Book are tasked to evacuate a group of Akaali from a settlement set in the path of the gravitational anomaly threatening the quadrant.

The Akaali were a pre-industrial humanoid civilization that was encountered in 2151. Another race, known as the Malurians, were clandestinely exploiting their planet for veridium. The use of tetracyanate 622 in this process caused many Akaali to suffer from a serious disease eventually the Malurians were driven off the planet by Archer and the crew of the Enterprise NX-01. It will be interesting to see just how far this race has come since we first saw them back in the 22nd century,

Also, everyone’s favourite engineer, Jett Reno (Tig Notaro) makes her first appearance of the season.
